Having owned my own skis for many years, I've always had them serviced by, er, "professionals". Should I do my own? Why?
And more importantly, where do I start? AFAICS, Hot Wax and serious edge work are only necessary once every few weeks of skiing (so do at home?), but the various liquid waxes, etc. make for easy on-the-spot treatment (with a little edge tuning).
Anyone here do their own? Is it easy to match the standards of a good technician or is there a lot to learn (and buy?).
The Toko Web Site looks a good place to start but there's a boggling variety of kit... what matters?
