Choosing a ski boot

Hello to everyone,

My kind bro wants to buy me some ski boots for Christmas, as someone has told him the first piece of equipment an occasional skier should have is his/her own boots. Is this right?

We were looking around, and we can get some 'Head EZ-ON2 8' for 109 inc. vat which seems to be a good price although not many places sell them anymore, are they last year's model?

I would say I'm an intermediate skier, ie. comfortable on blues, but nervous on narrow or steep runs. Would these boots be suitable? Or are there any people would recommend for about 110 quid?
