Yes, got the news of this 1st thing this morning, very sad.

That's awful. It sounds to me as though the man accidentally skied just off piste because he couldn't see where he was going, and hence the search party couldn't find him. That's what I worry about doing, and why I'd prefer to stay still if I couldn't see anything at all, because at least I'd know I was on piste.
Did you see the other piece on the same page about the poor man who froze to death in his garden in Scotland, because he couldn't find his front door keys after a night out?

AllyG, what I personally think is awful, is that 4 Italian rescuers lost their lives attempting to rescue 3 stupid people.
