I'm looking for some suggestions. I'm a regular 'group' leader who arranges a 4 night trip for 5 or 6 men each season. We usually fly to Geneva with Easyjet and then transfer to one of the 'main' French resorts. We've done this for the past 6 years. However a change of country is now demanded.

Therefore - I'm looking for a resort in either Switerland / Austria / Italy - that is within reasonable distance from an Airport, high altitude, prefer ski in ski out accommodation. Accommodation would need to be flexible, as we would arrive on a Friday and return home on the following Tuesday.

Any help?????
You'll never know, unless you try...

Switzerland does short breaks quite well. Maybe somewhere like Verbier would suit your group. It's not too far from Geneva. Have a look here http://www.j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Switzerland/Verbier.html at the accommodation links to find a short stay apartment, or you could contact the Tourist Office direct.
I have stayed with Interhome in a variety of resorts on other than a Sat-Sat basis.

At the risk of repeating myself...

Obergurgl is an hour and a half from innsbruck, high altitude, ski in ski out and mostly hotels so flexible. Not hot on the nightlife, although there are a couple of lively places.

Obertauern is 1 hour and a bit from Salzburg! High, lots of good snow.

Hello.
Innsbruck is nicely situated for a number of good ski areas, including St Anton to the west and Mayrhofen to the East.
Transfers are readily available, and Easyjet have just launched new routes in Innsbruck, although you actually might fly cheaper with BA there days!!!!

Friederichshafen is becoming much more popular, as it also within touching distance of many Swiss and Western Austrian resorts. I believe Ryanair fly there.

ooooh, now you are talking. Verbier was brilliant in late March/early April this year, if you dont mind the poshoes giving it large all the time.

Pretty well everywhere in the Northern Alps was brilliant this year. One amazing winter should not be viewed as the norm.
Valais is pretty consistently good at that time of year, if you avoid south facing resorts. These, like Crans Montana, will have a shorter season, but more deckchair opportunities 8)

I dont believe there has ever been a "norm". Each year is unique. However, late season appears to be more reliable for fresh snow in recent years. Provided of course you are high enough.
