If you want to book the flights yourself try contacting the tourist office in Morzine: http://www.morzine-avoriaz.com/?langue=1&saison=0
They should be able to book everything else for you. You dont say if you speak french or not ... it doesnt matter. If you phone them chances are the person who answers will speak english. Tourist offices offer a wide range of services that many people are unaware of, from acting as an agent for hotels/apartements, booking ski lessons , lift passes etc.If they cant actually book something for you, they will put you in touch with someone who can.
My brother booked a family holiday to Les Gets (neighboring resort to Morzine) a couple of years back. The tourist office booked everything for him (except flights).

Thanks for all your input folks, really appreciated.

Ian your right, it's the " herded like cattle experience " that I try to avoid on all holidays.

I've just come back from a week in Marrakech that I organised from the ground up via net and phone and it was fantastic, we did everything we wanted to do, when we wanted to do it.

I appreciate that as it's my first time skiing and I'll face the wrath of three others if I b*lls this holiday up, it might be worth letting the big operators take the strain on this one!!

Although I'll probably do a bit of research anyway just to see if any big savings can be made or any extra luxury had for package prices.

I can feel a surf coming on

Cheers

Personally I would avoid the package deals and find a smaller chalet where they can give you more personal service. The tour operators tend to treat you like a number and you just don't get one to one service.
It's worth getting it right on your first holiday, otherwise you may be put off in the future

Most smaller chalets offer a more personal service and can sort out your transfers, ski hire and lessons for you plus give you some personal advice.

We do in La Clusaz so I imagine there are some similar operators in Morzine.
We even fit your kit at the chalet (so no mad Frenchies to deal with or plastic to hand over) and meet your instructors with you on the first day so you don't get lost amongst the crowd.

Good luck - Dave

 Ok, you could try Ski Independance, (www.ski-i.com) the service is really good, you can book as much or as little as you want, everything from flights and instruction to ferry crossings and ski hire. Personally I drive to the resort since I hate all the hanging around waiting for flights and transfers. 3 hours to Dover from Bristol and 10 hours in France to most resorts and no surcharges if you have your own equipment. The drive sounds daunting but the French Autoroutes are so good and traffic free that the time just flies, and the feeling of driving up the mountain is something else!
We did this for our first trip, have done it again twice since and are going again at Christmas.
I loved the fact that I wasn't attached to a huge group and saved a packet into the bargain.
Whichever way you choose you'll love it, so don't worry and chill out!
Live each day as if it's your last, you never know what tommorrow brings!
