Hi
I'm totally confused. Too many options, and can't figure out what to choose.
I'm flying to Geneva on March 21st until the 26th (early in the morning).
Going solo with my 7 year old, a +beginner.
I'm looking for a resort close to Geneva, but with good conditions at the end of march, that will be easy to find an hotel/apartment for just 5 nights.
Val Thorens and Tignes are sure choices, but a bit too far, and too expensive.
I was thinking about Meribel, but read that snow can be slushy, and might not be able to ski-in/out at this time of the year.
Can you help us make a choice? I'm not sure if to insist on ski-in/out resorts.
What do you think?
Thank you all
Roy

Plenty of choice, without having to drive all the way down to the 3 valleys.
Grand Massif (I second the recommendation for Les Carroz), Portes du Soleil (Morzine great for kids but might be slushy) or the Aravis resorts (La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand both fit the bill - both have good beginner areas) are all an hours drive from Geneva.
March 21st really isn't that late in the season; even if it is mild it's unlikely to be unpleasantly slushy - and youngsters often have a better time if they're not getting too cold.

We went to Les Carroz. It's close to Geneva (1 hour?) Has a great beginner area at the top of the gondola if the nursery slope in the resort is slushy and is linked to other places in Grand Massif (Samoens, Flaine)

That was my though, is still peak season and softer snow is always easier to ski on.

Flaine (also in the Grand Massif area) could also be worth a look. Its close to Geneva and offers ski-in, ski-out which simplifies life when skiing with a young beginner. It is also very much a family resort so likely to plenty of other kids to play with on and off the slopes.
